Next Stop, the Hollywood Sign (sort of) and Santa Monica Pier
Once our summit concluded, those East Coasters present had to stay an extra night because of flights, so a group of us was able to do a little bit of exploring away from the downtown LA area.
We took the Mount Hollywood Trail, mistakenly assuming that that meant we would be hiking up to the Hollywood sign. Rather, it just took us to some places where we could SEE the sign. 😮💨
Once we wrapped up the hike, we headed to Santa Monica Pier, and I got to dip my feet in the Pacific Ocean!
We followed that up with some chips and margaritas until it was time to head back for our dinner at the hotel.
We did discover that there is a sweet treat that tastes like a fruit roll-up rolled into tahini. It coated some of the straws in our margaritas. I would recommend at least trying it! We all did with various reactions.
It was amazing to have just a little more time with some awesome and adventurous people.
Then, it was time to pack for my next adventure:
a cross-country train trip from LA to New Orleans.
