Next Stop, the Hollywood Sign (sort of) and Santa Monica Pier

Once our summit concluded, those East Coasters present had to stay an extra night because of flights, so a group of us was able to do a little bit of exploring away from the downtown LA area.  We took the Mount Hollywood Trail, mistakenly assuming that that meant we would be hiking up to the Hollywood sign. Rather, it just took us to some places where we could SEE the sign. 😮‍💨 Needless to say, it was a bit of a bummer, but the company and the views more than made up for it!  Once we wrapped up the hike, we headed to Santa Monica Pier, and I got to dip my feet in the Pacific Ocean! We followed that up with some chips and margaritas until it was time to head back for our dinner at the hotel. We did discover that there is a sweet treat that tastes like a fruit roll-up rolled into tahini. It coated some of the straws in our margaritas. I would recommend at least trying it! Every Journey Begins Somewhere

Welcome!  My departure from Social Media necessitated the need for another way to capture memories, to record pictures, and to share my adventures! As an avid traveler, I also rely a lot on reviews, so I wanted to give done honest recommendations. I'm currently on a train pulling out of Los's Angeles's Union Station. The past week has been quite an adventure!  I started my trip and Louisville, Kentucky as I was lucky enough to be able to attend graduation commencement for some of our students. On Friday, we had an Alumni Celebration at Churchill Downs, and I got a picture with the cement jockeys that they have outside. I'm making this face because I had just been told that even the jockeys would be taller than me (I'm 5'3).  After an exciting commencement, I hopped a plane to LA for our school's Summit!
